The 47th Rocky Mountain Emmy® Awards have nominated “On the Road to 100% Chaves” in the category of its “Special Concerns Content.” This documentary is part of a series focusing on New Mexico State University’s 100% New Mexico initiative, which identifies challenges facing New Mexicans and showcases local champions uniting to create innovative solutions.

Directed by Vladimir Chaloupka of VladFilms and developed by the 100% New Mexico initiative co-creators, Dr. Katherine Ortega Courtney and Dominic Cappello, the documentary highlights the importance of socially-engaged filmmaking in addressing societal challenges.

Impact and Recognition

The Emmy nomination underscores the power of documentaries to engage, enlighten, and draw attention to critical issues and the solutions being developed across New Mexico. Chaloupka’s award-winning visuals, combined with the compelling narrative crafted by Dr. Courtney and Cappello, a New York Times bestselling author, have resulted in a series that sparks crucial conversations about society and envisions a future where all can thrive. Dr. Ortega Courtney shared, “This Emmy nomination is a powerful recognition for the thousands of New Mexicans engaged in the 100% New Mexico initiative, working to ensure the health, safety, education, and social justice of 100% of its people.”
